Senior Software Engineer

Gumroad is currently expanding its engineering team in New York to strengthen its position as one of the leading platforms in the creator economy.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability and performance of Gumroad’s core infrastructure. The platform processes millions of dollars in transactions every week, and your role will ensure that the system remains fast, reliable, and scalable.

• Build and maintain features across the entire product stack, from backend systems to user interfaces.

• Take ownership of major product features and lead them from concept to production.

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that follows engineering best practices.

• Collaborate with designers, product managers, engineers, and open-source contributors.

• Review code and provide constructive feedback to maintain high-quality standards.

• Ensure platform performance, accuracy, and reliability for financial transactions.

• Strong experience in full-stack software development.

• Experience with backend frameworks such as Ruby on Rails or similar technologies.

• Proficiency with modern frontend technologies such as React, TypeScript, or JavaScript frameworks.

• Experience working with databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and development tools such as AWS, Docker, and GitHub.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in collaborative engineering teams.
